Abstract

The Arabic language is one of the most important languages in the contemporary world because it is the national language of all Arab countries, and it is - above all - the language of the Noble Qur’an and a medium of performing religious duties and eliciting Sharia provisions for Muslims. It has a long linguistic history of scientific and cultural history, and its new renaissance in the modern era has reached important stages, and it has its contemporary issues. Malaysia has paid great attention to the Arabic language and given it great care in various educational fields in particular, and the media in general. It is noticeable that non-Arabic speaking students of Islamic studies in a non-Arabic environment face difficulties in acquiring skills in the Arabic language despite their long period of study. For this reason, the article presents a descriptive study to overcome this problem by employing the Arab media in teaching and learning the terminology of Sharia in the Arabic language. The evidence of previous studies also supports the effectiveness of using the media in promoting the teaching and learning of the Arabic language. In addition, there are several researches that demonstrated the role of the media in enriching the scientific environment in the Arabic language. The article sees the need to pay attention to the media to employ it in teaching the language of the Qur’an. It is taught to non-Arabic speaking students especially students of the College of Sharia and Law as an activity accompanying the Arabic and Sharia courses, and its application in all learning skills.
